Photographers, philosophers, poets, sculptors, thinkers, tinkerers and mark makers…join us for an afternoon of plein air art making in the great outdoors.
PLANE AIR is the first in a series of site-specific art school excursions to unique Gold Coast locations. Activities are self guided and can include drawing, painting, taking photographs, creating site-specific sculptural interventions, performing, writing or simply thinking or conversely not-thinking. Participants can request guidance and/or critique on their work or simply enjoy a day out with fellow creatives from the community.
WHEN: 1-4pm, AUGUST 30 (Rain, hail or shine. We will update the location inline with weather reports)
WHERE: Gold Coast Airport fringe aka the Jet blast zone, on the grass between Betty Diamond Sports Field and Tugun Skate Park.
HOW TO GET THERE: Free on street parking is available. Buses run close-by along Boyd Street and the Gold Coast Highway. Check Translink for details.
BYO: Water bottle, snacks, specific art medium requirements, hat, sunscreen, chair, picnic blanket or whatever you need to work comfortably. We’ll provide some nibbles, refreshments and basic mark making materials.
